Dongseo Power Generation and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology Sign Agreement for Renewable Energy Talent Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea East-West Power announced that it signed an 'Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement for Training Renewable Energy Specialists' with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) on the 22nd at the UNIST main building.
The agreement is an exchange and cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and 4th industrial revolution technologies in the power industry environment where the share of renewable energy generation is increasing. It was signed to expand opportunities for training specialized personnel and industry-academia cooperation activities.
Through the agreement, the two institutions will actively cooperate in nurturing talents in the Department of Renewable Energy Technology Management, advising on educational curricula in renewable energy and 4th industrial revolution fields, and exchanging information on academic activities.
The UNIST Department of Renewable Energy Technology Management curriculum includes ▲ energy systems, policy, market analysis, photovoltaic power generation technology, wind energy technology ▲ hydrogen fuel cell technology, energy value chain efficiency, commercialization of renewable energy ▲ energy business finance, data mining, big data analysis, and business analytics.
A Korea East-West Power official said, "Through this agreement, we plan to cultivate convergence-type talents who lead the development of new energy businesses such as photovoltaic, wind power, fuel cells, and energy by providing convergence education combining renewable energy and 4th industrial revolution new technologies with creative technology management," adding, "Cooperation with UNIST, which has excellent faculty in renewable energy and 4th industrial revolution new technology fields, will lay the foundation for securing eco-friendly future growth engines."

Korea East-West Power is collaborating on renewable energy technology development through various industry-academia cooperation projects with UNIST, including seawater battery-based energy-independent GPS buoys for fishing nets, ultra-high-efficiency multi-junction solar cells using perovskite, and hydrogen and electricity production utilizing carbon dioxide.
