Gyeonggi-do, Audit of 20 Apartment Complexes
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will conduct audits on 20 apartment complexes this year.
On the 19th, Gyeonggi Province announced that to foster a healthy apartment management culture, it will carry out 10 complaint audits and 10 ex officio audits on 20 apartment complexes this year.
A complaint audit is conducted when more than 30% of residents agree to request it, according to the Apartment Management Act. It is implemented to minimize disputes among residents.
An ex officio audit is conducted on complexes where contract amounts related to defect repairs, long-term repair work, housing management companies, cleaning and security service providers are large, or where there are many bids or frequent complaint disputes.
Since 2013 until June last year, the province has audited a total of 144 complexes, uncovering 139 cases of prosecution, 74 cases referred for investigation, 510 fines, 48 suspensions of qualifications, totaling 1,820 cases.
