Maxlotec Holds 28 Intellectual Property Rights Related to Robot Manufacturing... "Expecting Benefits from Government Robot Industry Development Policies"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Maxrotech announced on the 14th that it holds 28 intellectual property rights related to robot manufacturing, and is expected to benefit from the government's 'Intelligent Robot Basic Plan.'
Maxrotech is an automation robot specialized company located in Daegu. It holds 28 intellectual property rights, including utility models and patents. The company explained that these intellectual property rights are the core competitiveness of the robot industry.
A company official said, "Maxrotech produces automated equipment including gantry robots (Gantry Robot, logistics transfer robots) used in automobile parts manufacturing factories," adding, "We acquired technology and know-how related to automation systems through supplying machine tools to the engine core parts production lines of completed car manufacturers."
Gantry robots are divided into wired gantry robots and wireless gantry robots, and Maxrotech is the only company in Korea that produces both wired and wireless gantry robot systems. Maxrotech is the only domestic producer of wireless gantry robots, and globally, only Maxrotech and Japan's Giken produce them. The official explained, "The distinction between wired and wireless gantry robots lies in the cable, which is the signal transmission device for the carrier, the core module that transfers materials. If a cable is attached, it is a wired gantry robot; if not, it is a wireless gantry robot."
In particular, Maxrotech expects to benefit from the government's robot policy. The government has established the '3rd Intelligent Robot Basic Plan' and is promoting follow-up measures. The budget for the robot sector has been increased by 28% from last year (103.6 billion KRW) to 132.7 billion KRW, and it will be finalized after approval by the National Assembly. The robot industry development plan aims to elevate Korea to one of the top four global robot industry powers by 2023, presenting three major policy tasks: ▲expanding the distribution of manufacturing robots centered on three major manufacturing industries ▲focusing on nurturing four major service robot sectors ▲strengthening the robot industry ecosystem.
