U.S. Department of Commerce Initiates Anti-Dumping Investigation on Korean Cigarettes
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The U.S. Department of Commerce has confirmed that it has launched an anti-dumping investigation into Korean cigarettes.
On the 8th (local time), the U.S. Department of Commerce announced on its website that it has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into Korean Grade 4 cigarettes.
Grade 4 cigarettes refer to cigarette-type tobacco products with a length of 7.0 to 12.0 cm and a diameter of 1.3 cm or less.
Previously, some U.S. tobacco producers had petitioned for an anti-dumping investigation into Korean cigarettes.
The dumping margin range is 7.10 to 113.06%.
If the U.S. Department of Commerce finds anti-dumping-related evidence in this investigation and the International Trade Commission (ITC) determines that the U.S. tobacco industry has been harmed by dumping of Korean cigarettes, the U.S. may impose tariffs.
