[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Son Tae-seok] Gimhae City announced on the 6th that starting this year, it will provide support for school uniform purchase costs to new middle school students and first-year transfer students in order to reduce parents' educational expenses and realize universal welfare.
The support targets are new students and first-year transfer students of middle schools located in Gimhae City, who have their resident registration (including foreign registration) in Gimhae City and are required to wear uniforms according to school regulations. The city plans to expand the support for school uniform purchase costs to high school students starting in 2021.
Support for first-year transfer students is allowed only once for students transferring from other cities, counties, or districts, excluding those transferring within the same Gimhae City. Students attending schools outside the jurisdiction or unapproved alternative schools can also apply for support if they have a residence in Gimhae City.
The application period is from March 2 to November 30, with the concentrated application period from March 2 to March 27. After reviewing duplicate support and account errors, the school uniform purchase costs will be paid sequentially to the application accounts starting in May.
