In the fiercely competitive future mobility market, Hyundai Mobis has declared its ambition to become a 'global top player.' Their strategy is to stand out with advanced technologies and product competitiveness that will lead the market.
At CES 2025 in Las Vegas last month, Hyundai Mobis unveiled its 'Holographic Windshield Transparent Display' technology, which utilizes the vehicle's front windshield as a transparent screen.
This technology clearly displays various content?such as driving information, navigation, and music playlists?needed for vehicle operation on the lower part of the windshield, without the need for display devices installed on the driver or passenger side.
To target the premium automotive display market, Hyundai Mobis has already secured a high-end product portfolio in the display sector. This includes the 'QL Display' known for its large screen, high resolution, and slim design; the 34-inch ultra-large curved 'Swivel (variable) Display' that moves; and the 'Rollable Display' that rolls up and down.
To secure future growth engines in the mobility market, Hyundai Mobis invested 1.7 trillion won in research and development (R&D) last year alone?the largest amount ever.
As a result of continuous annual investment in R&D, Hyundai Mobis has secured numerous mass-production-ready new technologies in key areas such as electrification, electronics, safety, and lamps. Last October, these achievements were showcased to the public through an 'R&D Tech Day.'
At the event, Hyundai Mobis presented 65 new mobility technologies with commercialization potential within the next two to three years. Notable examples include autonomous driving, advanced sensors, parking assist systems, in-wheel motors, ultra-fast battery charging and cooling technology, communication headlamps, and rear-wheel steering systems.
Additionally, Hyundai Mobis is strengthening its vehicle cybersecurity capabilities to secure reliable technologies. Last year, it became the first Asian parts supplier to obtain Cyber Security Certification (VCS) in Europe. In the automotive industry, cybersecurity refers to protecting vehicle systems and networks with reliable security technologies to counter risks such as external hacking and to prevent the leakage of user personal information.
A Hyundai Mobis representative stated, "As regulations regarding vehicle security are being strengthened in various countries, obtaining such certification will become a key competitive advantage for global products and orders," adding, "We will continue to integrate core technologies to deliver 'mobility integrated solutions' that revolutionize user experience."
