BTS Nominated in Three Categories Including 'Artist of the Year' at the American Music Awards

BTS will be attending the American Music Awards (AMA), one of the three major pop music award ceremonies in the United States, according to BigHit Music on May 21.
According to the AMA, BTS will participate in the awards ceremony held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA, at 5 p.m. on May 25. This marks the first time in five years that BTS will attend the AMA in person since 2021.
BTS has been nominated for "Artist of the Year," the ceremony's top honor. They will compete with nine other artists, including Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga. In 2021, BTS became the first Korean artist to win this award.
Additionally, BTS has been nominated in three categories, including "Best Male K-pop Artist" and "Song of the Summer." The title track "Swim" from their fifth full-length album "Arirang" was nominated for "Song of the Summer." Released on March 20, this song was included in the nominee list as of April 14, just one month after its release.
BTS has won a total of 12 awards at the AMA as both a group and as solo artists. They won their first award in 2018 in the "Favorite Social Artist" category, and claimed it for three consecutive years through 2020. In 2019, they won "Tour of the Year." Starting with "Favorite Duo/Group - Pop/Rock" in the same year, they went on to win the Pop Duo/Group category for four consecutive years through 2022, becoming the most awarded artist in the category's history.
In 2021, BTS won "Artist of the Year," "Favorite Duo/Group," and "Favorite Pop Song," achieving a triple crown. In 2022, they received their first award in the newly established "Favorite K-pop Artist" category. In 2025, RM won the same category.

BTS will also hold the "BTS World Tour Arirang in Las Vegas" concert at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, USA, over four days: May 23 and 24, and May 27 and 28. The city will be decorated in red, the theme color of their fifth full-length album "Arirang," for the "Arirang Red Illumination," and various related events will take place throughout the city.
