The event, organized by the Gangseo District Federation of Disabled Persons Associations (President Kim Yongje), was attended by more than 900 people, including Assemblywoman Han Jeongae (Gangseo-byeong, Policy Committee Chairperson of the Democratic Party), members of disability organizations, and their families.
The ceremony began with a joint entrance by Mayor Jin and President Kim, and proceeded in two parts: the first part as the official ceremony, and the second as a time of unity. The first part featured the reading of the Human Rights Charter for Persons with Disabilities, commendations for those who have contributed to disability welfare, and the presentation of welfare support funds. The second part included a congratulatory performance.
Gangseo District designated the week starting from the 18th as Disabled Persons Day Commemoration Week and has been running a variety of programs. On the 22nd, a cultural event called "Oh! Dance Day" will be held at Hobak Night in Hwagok-dong, where people with developmental disabilities and care workers will participate together. On the 24th, there will be a film screening on the theme of disability rights.
