He further diagnosed, "The stage of innovation is shifting from the ground to the sky."
Jang added, "Low Earth orbit satellite communications, which will complete the era of hyperconnectivity; space manufacturing, which will make processes impossible on Earth a reality; and the Moon and planets, which are treasure troves of limitless resources—space is no longer a vague fantasy," and continued, "Space has now become a business arena that has a tangible impact on the financial statements of our companies."
In particular, Jang stressed, "It is not just about owning technology, but about who can secure the ecosystem that the technology creates—that is what will determine the winner," adding, "We will seek the most practical and bold answer to how space can become the new growth engine for our companies."
The event, hosted by The Asia Business Daily and sponsored by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Science and ICT, Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Korean Industries, and the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA), was held under the theme "Space Nomics, South Korea's Growth Engine Found in Space."
Leading global space centers and domestic and international companies gathered to share their strategies for the space business and the latest technological trends, as well as to seek practical solutions to apply these advances to industry.
