In his opening address at the "2026 Asia Future Enterprise Forum" held at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul on May 13, Jang stated, "The space we are witnessing now is an emerging market where large-scale capital and technology converge, and it is a leading alternative to overcome the limits of the Earth’s economy." He went on to diagnose, "The stage for innovation is shifting from the ground to the skies above."

Jang further explained, "Low Earth orbit satellite communications that will complete the hyper-connected era, space manufacturing that will make previously impossible processes possible, and the Moon and planets as inexhaustible sources of resources—space is no longer a vague fantasy." He emphasized, "Space has become a business arena that now has a tangible impact on the financial statements of our companies."

In particular, Jang stressed, "It is not just about possessing technology, but about who can gain dominance over the ecosystem created by that technology—that is what determines the winner." He added, "We will seek out the most realistic and bold answer to how space can become a new growth engine for our companies."

This event, hosted by The Asia Business Daily and sponsored by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Korean Industries, and the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA), was held under the theme "Spacenomics, South Korea's Growth Engine Found in Space."
