Boosting Stay-Type Tourism with Hanok Accommodations and Camping
Hwarang Village in Gyeongju City has launched a campaign to invigorate the operation of the Yukbuchon Hanok Pension and its campground in order to attract family tourists and camping visitors during the summer season.
Hwarang Village plans to expand demand for stay-type tourism by linking traditional hanok accommodations, eco-friendly camping, and a variety of experience programs. The goal is to provide visitors to Gyeongju with a distinctive space for relaxation.

It is one of Gyeongju's premier destinations for retreats and education, offering youth training facilities, experience programs, and accommodations.
The Yukbuchon Hanok Pension is a hanok-style accommodation named after the six divisions of Silla, combining the atmosphere of traditional hanok with modern conveniences.
With spacious rooms and a comfortable lodging environment, it is popular not only among families but also among friends and couples traveling together. It is also well-suited for overnight trips linked to Gyeongju's major historical and cultural attractions.
The Hwarang Village Campground offers space to enjoy camping and relaxation amidst nature.
Equipped with camping sites, convenient facilities, and extensive outdoor areas, it is ideal for family camping and group overnight activities. The camping environment, harmonized with the seasonal natural scenery, is also a key attraction.
To boost the operation of its accommodations, Hwarang Village will strengthen promotion through social media and online channels, and will link a variety of activities—such as tour-type mission programs (indoor and outdoor escape rooms) and an outdoor swimming pool—to its lodging facilities.
In addition, the facility plans to maintain a comfortable and safe environment by improving rooms and campground facilities, enhancing safety management, and reflecting users' feedback.
Son Jooyoung, head of Hwarang Village, said, "The Yukbuchon Hanok Pension and campground offer uniquely differentiated accommodations where visitors can experience Gyeongju's historical, cultural, and natural resources together. We will focus on invigorating operations and improving services so that families, youth, and tourists alike can stay comfortably and create special memories."
Reservations for the Yukbuchon Hanok Pension and campground are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via the internet, starting at 10 a.m. on the first day of the month preceding the date of use.
