Congestion relief anticipated during rush hour... Full opening after safety management
Osan City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on May 18 that it had opened the "Seoburo Temporary Connecting Detour Road," which was constructed to alleviate traffic inconveniences caused by restrictions on Seoburo.
The newly opened temporary connecting road is a detour section that runs from Geumam Intersection toward the Gajang Industrial Complex and Gajang Intersection. The city established this road to ease congestion that arose in the Segyo 2 District and surrounding intersections after traffic restrictions were imposed in the Gajang-dong area.
Due to the expectation that restoring the accident section would take a long time, the city has been working to open this detour road as a response to minimize inconvenience for residents. Separate from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's accident investigation, the city focused on securing a vehicle passage route and prepared for the opening accordingly.
Prior to the opening, Osan City conducted a joint on-site inspection with the Osan Police Station to check the installation status of traffic safety signs, lane markings, and road safety facilities, and also carried out supplementary work to address any deficiencies.

The city expects that operating this temporary connecting road will help distribute traffic flow in the Segyo 2 District and Gajang-dong area, and also somewhat improve accessibility toward the Gajang Industrial Complex.
An official from Osan City stated, "We pursued the opening of the temporary connecting road to alleviate, even if only slightly, the inconvenience experienced by citizens due to traffic restrictions," adding, "Even after opening, we will continue to monitor conditions on site to ensure citizen safety and thorough traffic management."
