ESCHEM Expands into Aerospace, Semiconductor, and Cosmetic Materials to Secure New Growth Engines
ESCHEM, a company specializing in OLED material synthesis and purification technology, is expanding its business scope into high value-added advanced precision chemical materials, including aerospace, semiconductors, and cosmetic materials. The company’s strategy is to secure new growth engines by leveraging its high-purity synthesis and purification technologies accumulated through its existing OLED materials business.
On May 18, ESCHEM announced that it has recently established a technology cooperation system with companies such as Dongin Chemical, which has experience in the aerospace and precision chemical materials sectors. Based on this cooperation network and professional workforce, the company is seeking to enter new precision chemical material markets.
ESCHEM plans to diversify its business portfolio by utilizing the process stabilization technologies and high-purity precision chemical capabilities acquired through its OLED materials business. Dongin Chemical is working to localize materials such as ‘Tris HCl’, which are currently dependent on imports, through a project supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. ESCHEM intends to expand the synergy effects of the collaboration by utilizing its production facilities and precision chemical technology.
In particular, the aerospace materials business that the company is pursuing focuses on high-performance precision chemical materials used in launch vehicles and propulsion system applications. As this market demands a high level of process stability and precision synthesis technology, ESCHEM is preparing to enter the field by leveraging its existing technological capabilities.
The company is collaborating with external professional research networks to advance its technology development efforts. For the mid-to-long term, it is also reviewing plans to secure mass production process technology and establish a robust production system. Initially, ESCHEM will utilize its existing production infrastructure to drive the business, and gradually expand its production capacity in line with growing market demand. The company has set 2027 as its target for entering mass production in the aerospace materials business.
The semiconductor materials business is also being fostered as a mid-to-long term growth pillar. Building on its OLED materials business, ESCHEM is expanding into high-purity precision chemical materials, such as additives for semiconductor wet processes. The related products are currently undergoing customer evaluation and mass production readiness procedures, and the company expects semiconductor materials sales to begin in earnest in the second half of this year.
To this end, the company is also working to establish new facilities within the Natural Products Knowledge Industry Center in Jecheon, Chungbuk. ESCHEM plans to strengthen its capabilities in advanced materials by expanding its cleanroom, precision purification facilities, and analytical infrastructure, thereby securing quality and production systems that meet client requirements.
The company is also pursuing the expansion of its white bio-based cosmetic materials business. ESCHEM is considering entering the eco-friendly bio-based precision chemical materials market, aiming to grow its business in cosmetic raw materials and functional precision chemical materials. The white bio materials business is targeting mass production in the second half of this year.
ESCHEM aims to strengthen its competitiveness in new materials by establishing a business structure that connects technology development, production, and commercialization, while also expanding synergy with its existing OLED and precision chemical businesses.
An ESCHEM representative stated, “This new business marks an important turning point as we expand our business scope based on our existing precision chemical technology capabilities. We will continue to secure technological competitiveness in the fields of aerospace, semiconductors, and white bio materials, and also pursue entry into the global market.”
The representative added, “We will continue to expand our business into various advanced material sectors based on the high-purity synthesis and purification technologies accumulated in the OLED and semiconductor materials sectors.”
