Gijang County (Mayor Jung Jongbok) held the entrance ceremony for the 'Kkumteul Children's Garden School' on May 9 in the Wayeo-ri area of Cheolma-myeon.
The entrance ceremony was attended by officials from Gijang County, elementary school students and their families from the Busan area, as well as representatives from urban agriculture organizations, who gathered to celebrate the beginning of a new learning journey for the children.
The '2026 Gijang Kkumteul Children's Garden School' began its first class on April 18 and will be held every Saturday through October, consisting of a total of 16 sessions.
The educational program features a variety of activities designed to foster children's ecological sensitivity by allowing them to experience nature firsthand. Activities include planting fruit vegetables, rice transplanting, cooking practice, and making terrariums.
Through this structured curriculum, it is expected that children will learn the importance of nature and life, and deepen their understanding of healthy food and the ecological environment.
Children who complete the entire program will receive graduation certificates.
