OCI Museum of Art Supports Emerging Artists and Visitors... 'Artistour' Docent Program Held
Emerging Artist Support Program in Action
Six Young Artists Selected to Receive Creative Grants
The OCI Museum of Art announced on May 13 that it hosted the exhibition-linked program 'Artistour' in collaboration with artists selected for the emerging artist support program 'OCI Young Creatives'.
'Artistour' is a program in which the artist directly participates as a docent, touring the exhibition with visitors and explaining the artworks and the creative process.
This event featured Jo Yoojung and Lee Eunkyung, who were selected as OCI Young Creatives artists this year. The program focused on Jo Yoojung's exhibition 'Eternal Wonder' and Lee Eunkyung's 'Chronicles of the Faucet', during which the artists shared the intentions behind their work and the production process with the audience.
OCI Young Creatives is a program launched by the OCI Museum of Art in 2010 to support emerging artists. Each year, six artists under the age of 35 are selected to receive a 10 million won creative grant, along with support for solo exhibitions, curation, and exhibition promotion.
Until May 30, visitors can view not only Jo Yoojung's 'Eternal Wonder' and Lee Eunkyung's 'Chronicles of the Faucet', but also Park Mikyung's 'Light that Testifies to Darkness', presented through the special exhibition 'OCI AGAIN: Precious Connections'.
