Seongju Fire Station Mobilizes for Accident Prevention at the 'Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival'
Promoting "Fire Prevention for Fires Caused by Negligence"
Ensuring Visitor Safety and a Successful Festival
The Seongju Fire Station has taken proactive measures to prepare for potential incidents and accidents at the Seongju-gun’s largest upcoming festival, where heavy crowds are expected.
According to the Seongju Fire Station in North Gyeongsang Province (Chief Park Ki-hyung), in anticipation of the '2026 Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival' to be held from May 14 to 17, 2026, the station has begun a campaign to promote 'fire prevention for fires caused by negligence,' aiming to ensure the safety of visitors and the successful hosting of the festival.

As large crowds are expected during this major local festival, the fire station seeks to prevent fires caused by even minor negligence in advance. In particular, since the use of open flames is expected to increase at food stalls and experience booths within the festival grounds, heightened caution is required.
The key fire prevention guidelines include: ▲ No littering of cigarette butts in the festival area or surrounding outdoor spaces ▲ No cooking or handling of fire outside designated areas ▲ Do not leave cooking food unattended ▲ Fire extinguishers must be placed at food stalls and experience booths ▲ No parking or stopping near firefighting facilities within the event venue.
Additionally, during the festival period, the Seongju Fire Station will maintain an emergency response system by forward-deploying firefighting resources and cooperating with relevant agencies. CPR and fire safety experience education will also be provided for visitors.
Chief Park Ki-hyung stated, “I hope that both residents and tourists will actively participate in fire prevention so that Seongju’s pride, the Chamoe Festival, can conclude safely,” and added, “The fire station will do its utmost to manage on-site safety and create a safe festival environment.”
