Daedong Delivers First AI Tractor to Customer: "Expecting Over 10% Reduction in Work Time"
Large-Scale Farm in Sinan, South Jeolla Province
Cultivating Green Onions and Onions on 15,000 Pyeong
Daedong announced on May 13 that it has supplied its AI Tractor, equipped with vision AI-based unmanned autonomous operation technology, to a large-scale farm in Sinan, South Jeolla Province, and held a product delivery ceremony. This marks the first time that the AI Tractor has been deployed for actual customer use in the Korean agricultural sector.
The first customer, Sangbeom Park, cultivates green onions and onions in Sinan, South Jeolla Province, managing a total farming area of 5 hectares (approximately 15,000 pyeong). Until now, Mr. Park operated a low-horsepower tractor himself, requiring more than a full day for rotary tilling alone. He faced challenges such as accumulated fatigue from long hours of work, safety concerns, inconvenience in attaching and detaching implements, and inconsistent work quality. After directly observing the AI Tractor’s capabilities at a demonstration event for farmers in March, he decided to adopt the product.

However, after seeing the demonstration of the Daedong AI Tractor, I believed that work efficiency could improve even more, which led me to purchase it." He added, "I also expect it to resolve the safety concerns I experienced with the previous autonomous operation kit."
According to Daedong, the AI Tractor’s strength lies in its ability to deliver more precise and stable work quality than human operators, thanks to its advanced autonomous control—even with no operator on board. This is particularly important for cultivating vegetables such as onions, garlic, peppers, and cucumbers, which Mr. Park grows, as creating straight seedbeds and furrows is critical for planting seeds or seedlings. The AI Tractor maintains consistent spacing and straightness, forming beds and furrows as straight as a paved road, thereby reducing unnecessary rework and saving work time.

Choi Hyungwoo, Head of Domestic Business at Daedong, stated, "This supply is significant as it represents the commercialization of the AI Tractor in real agricultural settings. Going forward, we will continue to enhance autonomous operation performance and work quality based on field data, leading the market for agricultural field robots optimized for the Korean farming environment."
