Found Dead Three Days After Going Missing
Presumed to Have Died After Accidental Fall
An elementary school student, Mr. A (11 years old, 6th grade), who went missing after visiting Juwangsan National Park in Cheongsong-gun, North Gyeongsang Province with his parents on the 10th and then setting out on a solo hike, was found dead three days later.
The fire authorities announced, "It is presumed that the missing elementary school student died after falling by accident."
Previously, on the 10th, after visiting Daejeonsa Temple in Juwangsan National Park with his parents, Mr. A set out alone to hike up Jubong and subsequently went missing.
Mr. A's parents reported to the fire authorities at 5:53 p.m. on the day he went missing, after their son, who had gone hiking without a mobile phone, failed to return for a considerable amount of time.
The family told the police and others, "About a year ago, we also hiked here, but he found it difficult and came back down before reaching the top," and added, "On the day he went missing, he said, 'I'll just go up a little and come back.'"

After reviewing the closed-circuit (CC) TV footage within the national park, authorities found no evidence to suggest that Mr. A's disappearance was related to a crime.
