Jeonggwan Senior Welfare Center, operated by the Gijang-gun Urban Management Corporation and headed by Moon Heejeong, received the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation at the "2026 Filial Piety Practice Merit Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to mark the 54th Parents' Day.
This commendation was awarded in recognition of the center's contributions to promoting respect for the elderly, fostering a culture of filial piety, improving senior welfare, and spreading a culture of honoring seniors within the local community.
Jeonggwan Senior Welfare Center has implemented various welfare programs for seniors, including the operation of a senior cafeteria, emotional support services, and social participation programs to support the healthy and happy lives of local seniors. The center has also consistently worked to spread a culture of filial piety and sharing through collaborations with the local community.
In particular, the center was highly praised for fostering a culture of respect for the elderly in partnership with the community through various commemorative events, including Parents' Day, and for continuously implementing support programs for seniors in vulnerable groups.
Director Moon Heejeong stated, "We will continue to provide a variety of welfare services so that seniors can be respected and enjoy happy lives within the community," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that the culture of practicing filial piety naturally spreads throughout the local community."
