Man in His 20s Posed as Female Influencer, Swindles 2 Billion Won in ‘Luxury Bag’ Scam

Police Investigating Possibility of Additional Victims
A man in his 20s is under police investigation for impersonating a female influencer with a large following and conducting a luxury bag sales scam. According to reports, 17 victims have been identified so far, with total damages amounting to approximately 2 billion won.
According to the police on May 11, the Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul is investigating a man in his 20s, surnamed Park, on charges of fraud.
Park is accused of advertising luxury bags and other items on an online trading platform at prices significantly lower than the market rate, taking payments from buyers, and then failing to deliver the goods.
In particular, Park is reported to have posed as a wealthy female influencer with many followers to gain the trust of buyers before committing the fraud.
The police have confirmed that, as of now, there are 17 victims and the total damage amounts to about 2 billion won.

Meanwhile, Park was recently detained for a separate crime unrelated to this case. The police are currently investigating Park to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the fraud, as well as whether there are any additional victims.
