Kyung Hee University Hospital announced on May 8 that it officially began full-scale operations with the opening ceremony of its Respiratory Center held on May 6.

View original imageThe opening ceremony was attended by Oh Juhyung, Director of Kyung Hee Medical Center, Kim Jongwoo, Director of Kyung Hee University Hospital, Jang Jaeyoung, Deputy Director of Planning and Medical Services, as well as around 50 other staff members.
The Respiratory Center integrates the treatment spaces for the Department of Respiratory and Allergy Medicine and the Department of Thoracic Surgery (lung and esophagus division). It has established a one-stop care system and a multidisciplinary collaborative framework that connects early diagnosis of lung cancer, determination of treatment direction, and surgery. The Pulmonary Function Test Laboratory, Allergy Test Laboratory, and Tuberculosis Counseling Room are organically arranged to allow tests, consultations, and medical care to be conducted in the same space.

Kim Jongwoo, Director of Kyung Hee University Hospital, stated, "The opening of the Respiratory Center was carried out to proactively and systematically respond to the increasing cases of severe respiratory diseases caused by various environmental factors such as fine dust. Lung cancer is a fatal disease that ranks among the leading causes of cancer mortality in Korea. We will strengthen patient-centered, high-quality medical services through a prompt and continuous care system."
