Strengthening the Rights of People with Disabilities
On May 6, Goryeong County, North Gyeongsang Province, won two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal at the 28th Gyeongsangbuk-do Disabled Sports Competition held in Andong, securing 3rd place overall in the military division.

This event was more than just a sports competition; it conveyed a meaningful message of unity and challenge. Under the supervision of the Goryeong County branch of the Korea Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities (President: Kim Youngok), a total of 78 participants (47 athletes and 31 staff and officials) from six disability organizations in the county competed and fully demonstrated the skills they have honed over time.
The gold medals were won by Lee Eunok (standing women’s division, physical disability) in Hangung and by Lee Changjik, Jin Sangun, and Lee Uwhan (team event, mixed hearing-impaired) in Schullen. The silver medal went to Park Changhwan (individual event, physical disability PGSTI) in park golf, and the bronze medal was awarded to Choi Jinsu (individual, men’s division) in table tennis.

An official from Goryeong County said, "We would like to express our gratitude to all the athletes and officials of the Goryeong County team for their outstanding performance and safe return from the competition. We will do our utmost to promote the health and participation in sports activities for people with disabilities and to strengthen their rights."
