Professor Woochul Park of Duksung Women's University Selected for Relationship Assessment Pilot Project
Caregiver-Child Relationship Program Launched in Seoul and Busan
Duksung Women's University announced on April 29 that the "Caregiver-Child Relationship Assessment" parent-child relationship consulting program, co-developed by Professor Woochul Park of the Department of Child and Family Studies, has been selected as a pilot project by both the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Busan Metropolitan Government.

Professor Park developed the program in collaboration with Professor Hyesung Kang of Gyeongsang National University and Professor Yeonmi Chun of Chonnam National University.
The Seoul Family Center, which oversees family centers in all 25 districts of Seoul, signed a business agreement with the Family Relationship Assessment Research Consortium on April 22, agreeing to introduce the "Caregiver-Child Relationship Assessment" to Seoul residents. Prior to this, the Busan Healthy Family Support Center signed an agreement on April 16 and confirmed the implementation of the pilot project in the Busan region.
This initiative is being carried out in 35 regions nationwide and is significant as it serves as a follow-up model to the now widely adopted "Couple·Marriage Assessment." With the introduction of the "Caregiver-Child Relationship Assessment," the "Family Relationship Assessment" system—which diagnoses and supports family relationships step by step—has now expanded to include the parent-child relationship domain.
Duksung Women's University expects that this pilot project will shift away from the traditional approach of providing counseling only after family issues have intensified, and instead strengthen preventive support by checking relationships in advance and helping to foster healthy connections. There is also an assessment that the role of family centers could expand beyond counseling and education to managing the relational health of families.
