Chuncheon City to Provide Fixed Subsidy of 150 Won per Liter
Early Payout in June to Minimize Farming Disruptions
Support Based on Fuel Usage from October Last Year to March This Year
Farms Without Hour Meters Installed Will Be Excluded
Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province is launching the "2026 Agricultural Duty-Free Fuel Purchase Support Project" in response to fuel price instability caused by the Middle East conflict and other factors. Farmers wishing to apply must visit the administrative welfare center in the township, town, or district where their farmland is located and submit an application by May 22.
The types of fuel eligible for support include all agricultural duty-free fuels: gasoline, diesel, kerosene, heavy oil, LPG, lubricants, and by-product oil. The total project scale is 3,350 kiloliters, with a total project budget of 502.5 million won (30% funded by the province and 70% by the city). The support rate is 150 won per liter, with a maximum payment of 2,475,000 won per household. The minimum payment amount is 7,000 won.
This project aims to reduce the production cost burden resulting from rising agricultural fuel prices and to support timely farming operations. In particular, to help stabilize farm management, the support funds will be paid out early in June. Eligible applicants are farmers and agricultural corporations residing in Chuncheon City who have reported their ownership of agricultural machinery and actual farming activities to the local agricultural cooperative, and who have received a duty-free fuel purchase card.
The first round of early payments will be calculated based on fuel consumption from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. However, farms that have not installed an agricultural heater hour meter or have not applied for the project will be excluded from the support program.
