"Let’s Grow Classical Culture"... Busan Companies Donate 3.5 Billion Won
Donation Relay Continues with 2 Billion Won from Sewoon Steel and Futronic
Companies in Busan have generously donated 3.5 billion won to expand and promote classical culture.
The Busan Metropolitan Government announced on the 20th that a donation ceremony was held at the City Hall’s reception room, with local companies participating, resulting in a total sponsorship of 3.5 billion won.
This donation will be delivered to the Busan Classical Culture Foundation, which was established to advance classical culture in Busan and to create a cultural fund. The donated funds will be used to support performance production, arts and culture education, and programs for culturally marginalized groups.
Major local companies and key figures attended the event. Following a 2 billion won donation from Sewoon Steel and Futronic in December last year, the trend of private sector-led giving continues to expand.
The city plans to strengthen the competitiveness of classical content and broaden opportunities for citizens to enjoy culture in connection with the construction of the Busan Concert Hall and Busan Opera House.
The foundation aims to continuously increase the scale of donations in the future and to pursue the development of internationally competitive performance content and projects to broaden the cultural base.
