Younghan Song and Minkyu Kim made it to the top of the leaderboard.
On April 16 (local time), at the Chapultepec Golf Club (par 71, 7,443 yards) in Mexico City, Mexico, the two players shot 4-under-par 67 in the first round of the LIV Golf Mexico City (total prize money of KRW 30 million), tying for third place. Song carded five birdies and one bogey, while Kim recorded one eagle, five birdies, and three bogeys.

View original imageYounghan Song and Minkyu Kim, both members of the Korean Golf Club along with Byeonghun An and Korean-New Zealander Danny Lee, have yet to finish in the top 10 at a LIV Golf event. Song's best performance so far was a tie for 17th in South Africa last month, while Kim's best was a tie for 32nd in Adelaide this past February.
Victor Perez of France surged to the top of the leaderboard with a 9-under-par 62. Jon Rahm of Spain finished second with a 6-under-par 65, while Dustin Johnson of the United States and Ian Poulter of England joined the tie for third. Korean-Canadian Taehoon Lee was tied for 10th at 3-under-par 68, and Tyrrell Hatton of England, who tied for third at last week's major Masters event, finished the first round tied for 15th at 2-under-par 69.

Byeonghun An was tied for 24th at 1-under-par 70. Bryson DeChambeau of the United States, who won back-to-back titles in Singapore and South Africa last month, was tied for 29th at even-par 71.
