Chairman Seung-Yeon Kim Hosts Dinner with Retired Bukil Academy Teachers: "Deep Gratitude for Your Dedication"
Dinner Event Held to Celebrate 50th Anniversary of School’s Founding

View original imageAccording to Hanwha Group on April 17, Chairman Kim hosted a dinner event the previous day, inviting 37 retired teachers of Bukil Academy to Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The event was attended by a total of 43 current and former teachers, including Eom Dong-il, former principal who retired in 2007; teacher Shin Jin-soo, who left the school this year; Kim Ok-sun, principal of Bukil High School; and Yoon Se-yoon, principal of Bukil Girls’ High School.
Before the dinner, Chairman Kim remarked, “It is very meaningful to be able to express my gratitude to the teachers who laid the foundation of Bukil on the occasion of the school's 50th anniversary,” adding, “The future vision and guidance shown by the teachers will serve as a compass for the talents of Bukil.” He continued, “I hope this gathering brings joy and comfort to the teachers. I extend my deepest respect and gratitude.”
Eom Dong-il, former principal of Bukil Girls’ High School, said, “Hanwha’s corporate motto of ‘trust and loyalty’ has been a pillar in my life after retirement,” and expressed his appreciation for the support of ‘Samrakhoe,’ which allowed retirees to maintain their sense of belonging. He added, “Whenever I hear news about Hanwha’s global achievements, I feel proud to have been a teacher at Bukil.”
During the event, the retired teachers presented Chairman Kim with a framed calligraphy piece and walnut cookies. Kim Pyeong-ho, a retired teacher from Bukil High School, personally delivered a calligraphy work with the phrase ‘Gasang (嘉祥, wishing for continuous auspicious events).’
A representative from Bukil Foundation explained, “This event embodies the spirit of ‘nurturing talent for the nation,’ as emphasized by the late Chairman Kim Jong-hee, who believed that ‘education is the cornerstone of the nation's long-term future.’ It reflects both the founding spirit of Bukil Academy and our commitment to fostering national talent.”
After the dinner, Chairman Kim personally greeted each attending teacher as they departed. Previously, on April 4, Chairman Kim also attended the 50th anniversary celebration of Bukil High School to encourage students and faculty.

Founded on March 6, 1976, Bukil Academy currently operates Bukil High School and Bukil Girls’ High School, with 60 classes, 1,697 students, and 201 faculty and staff members. Over the past 50 years, it has produced approximately 24,000 graduates.
