T'way Air Surpasses 3.13 Million Passengers in Q1 2026
Expansion of New Routes and Network Diversification
International Passenger Numbers Up 23% Year-on-Year
T'way Air surpassed 3.13 million passengers in the first quarter of 2026.
According to statistics from the Aviation Information Portal System of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on April 16, T'way Air transported a total of 3,131,501 passengers from January to March 2026. This represents an increase of approximately 17% compared to about 2,683,038 passengers during the same period last year.
In particular, the number of international passengers reached 2,188,463, an increase of more than 23% year-on-year. This is analyzed as the result of T'way Air's strategy to expand supply by introducing new routes and diversifying its network since last year, which has gradually begun to show results.
Last year, T'way Air strengthened its competitiveness on long-haul routes by launching a new Incheon–Vancouver service. The airline also effectively absorbed regional demand by expanding new routes departing from local cities, such as Jeju–Kaohsiung, Cheongju–Bali, and Busan–Fukuoka and Sapporo.
This year, T'way Air has continued to expand its regional route network by launching new routes such as Busan–Narita (Tokyo), Busan–Hong Kong, and Busan–Kaohsiung.
Currently, T'way Air is actively responding to rising demand by deploying mid- to large-sized aircraft such as the A330-200, A330-300, and B777-300ER on major European long-haul routes from Incheon—including Paris, Rome, Barcelona, and Frankfurt—as well as on Sydney and Vancouver routes. As a result, reservation rates for European routes during this summer season are on the rise, and the airline's competitive fares and service quality are seen as positively influencing customer choices, helping T'way Air to establish a stable position in the market.
In this way, T'way Air is diversifying its route network, covering short-haul destinations such as Japan, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia, as well as medium- to long-haul routes to Europe, Australia, and Canada. The company is maintaining stable transportation performance by flexibly operating its routes according to seasonal demand and efficiently utilizing its fleet to improve load factors.
Additionally, T'way Air plans to sequentially introduce Airbus's next-generation eco-friendly aircraft, the A330-900NEO. The A330-900NEO is regarded as an environmentally friendly aircraft that can efficiently reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions compared to existing models.
Meanwhile, T'way Air recently changed its corporate name to Trinity Air through a shareholders' meeting. The official start of operations as Trinity Air will proceed once approvals from relevant domestic and international authorities are completed.
