Samsung Display Hosts 'Win-Win Cooperation Day', Honors Seven Outstanding Partners Including SFC
On April 15, Samsung Display held the '2026 Win-Win Cooperation DAY' event, recognizing domestic partners that have achieved outstanding results in technology and process innovation, as well as in ESG initiatives.
The event was attended by a total of 71 people, including CEO Lee Chung of Samsung Display and other executives, President Hong Sungcheon of Fine M Tech—who also serves as the chairman of the Samsung Display Cooperative Association—and representatives from 56 partner companies. The agenda included presentations on business strategies, an awards ceremony for outstanding partners, and presentations of case studies by the award recipients.

View original imageIn his welcome speech, CEO Lee Chung stated, "With the 8.6-generation IT OLED set for mass production, the market expansion expected for foldable displays, and the emergence of new artificial intelligence (AI) devices, 2026 will be a critical year for our business." He added, "Our true competitiveness will come from communicating closely with our partners, accurately reading the rapidly changing market and customer demands, and quickly introducing new technologies and products."
On behalf of the member companies, Hong Sungcheon, chairman of the Samsung Display Cooperative Association, said, "Even in a challenging environment, cooperation based on trust has been the driving force for innovation and competitiveness," and emphasized, "We will continue to share our technical expertise and know-how to maintain a sustainable, mutually beneficial relationship."
At the awards ceremony, a total of seven partners were recognized as outstanding partners for their achievements in production technology and process innovation, as well as sustainable management in 2025. SFC, which develops and manufactures high-quality organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and quantum dot (QD)-OLED organic materials, received the 'Grand Prize for Innovation' for its achievements in developing new organic materials with high efficiency and long lifespan characteristics, and for securing core molecular frameworks.
Philoptics, a supplier of laser processing equipment for display manufacturing, was awarded the 'Excellence in Innovation Award' for developing Samsung's next-generation glass cutting equipment optimized for 8.6-generation glass substrates, which improved panel durability and production line efficiency while reducing costs. LOT Vacuum, which supplies vacuum pumps for display manufacturing, received the 'Excellence in ESG Award' for its environmental performance, including a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2021 by installing air-cooled chillers to reduce electricity consumption and greenhouse gas output.
Samsung Display operates various win-win programs to support its partner companies. One notable initiative is the 'CREPAS' program, which supports R&D expenses for partners with innovative technological ideas. Since 2010, Samsung Display has jointly provided a cumulative total of 7.45 billion won for 103 projects in collaboration with the government, and last year, 103 companies raised 274.7 billion won in funding through the win-win fund.

This year marks the ninth year of Samsung Display's Smart Factory support project, which is aimed at enhancing the productivity and manufacturing competitiveness of its partners. Samsung Display and the government have established a cumulative fund of 9 billion won, supported 16 companies last year, and are currently providing support to 15 companies this year.
