KICOX Launches 'Industrial Complex MRV Platform' to Support Response to Global Carbon Regulations
Responding to Strengthened Environmental Regulations Such as CBAM
Signing MOUs with Nine Major Verification Agencies
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 15th that it held an inauguration ceremony for the 'Industrial Complex MRV Platform' at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul. The platform is designed to support tenant companies in industrial complexes in responding to global environmental regulations.
Recently, the global trade environment has been rapidly changing due to the introduction of the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Digital Product Passport (DPP). As a result, export companies face increasing pressure to meticulously manage and verify carbon emission data throughout the entire production process in accordance with international standards.

In particular, for product-level carbon emissions measurement, the platform links measurement data with production data and enables automatic collection, management, and submission of information required for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations. This is expected to ensure continuity and reliability of data while significantly reducing costs and administrative burdens for companies.
About 200 people attended the inauguration ceremony, including representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, major verification agencies, and export companies. Demonstrations at the event highlighted the platform's core functions, such as real-time energy usage monitoring based on the Factory Energy Management System (FEMS+), product carbon footprint (PCF) analysis using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and exemplary cases of supply chain management using systems connecting parent companies and partner companies.
To ensure the reliability of platform data, the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation also signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with nine major verification agencies on the same day. Through this, a practical verification support foundation has been established to help companies respond to global regulations.
Going forward, the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation plans to link the platform with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Industrial Data Space', enhancing its functionality so that tenant companies in industrial complexes can automatically generate and submit reports in formats required by global regulatory agencies.
