Boosting Vitality for Small Businesses and Traditional Markets
Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province will expand the issuance of its local currency, the Changwon Sarang Gift Certificate 'Nubijeon', in celebration of Family Month. This move aims to revitalize the local commercial districts and restore consumer confidence that has weakened due to external uncertainties such as tensions in the Middle East.

View original imageTo connect Family Month spending demand to local businesses, the city will expand the issuance of the Changwon Sarang Gift Certificate 'Nubijeon' to a scale of 80 billion won in May. As a result, the total issuance in the first half of the year will increase to 220 billion won.
In particular, to proactively respond to early May demand, when Family Month spending is concentrated, the issuance date has been moved up from the 20th of every odd-numbered month to May 4. Seniors will be given priority and allowed to make purchases starting one day earlier, on May 3.
Furthermore, to enhance citizens' actual purchasing power, the individual purchase limit has been raised from 300,000 won to 500,000 won, and the holding limit has been expanded from 1.5 million won to 2 million won. The 10% discount rate will also be maintained. The city expects that this expanded issuance of Nubijeon will increase tangible benefits for citizens, stimulate local spending, boost small business sales, and contribute to the recovery of neighborhood commercial districts and traditional markets.
