On April 13, President Lee Jaemyung sent a condolence message to honor the sacrifice of the firefighters who died in the line of duty at the factory fire in Wando County, Jeonnam.

View original imageThe National Fire Agency stated that a condolence message was sent to the funeral altar set up at a funeral hall in Wando County, Jeonnam, to honor the deceased. The message was read on site by Hong Ikpyo, Senior Presidential Secretary for Political Affairs.
In his condolence message for the late Fire Captain Park Seungwon, President Lee stated, "He was a veteran firefighter who served at numerous disaster scenes over the past 20 years, and he bravely rushed into the fierce blaze driven by a strong sense of duty to protect lives. We will never forget his noble dedication and sacrifice."
He continued, "I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family, who lost a loving husband and a dependable father, as well as to all fellow firefighters who have stood together to protect the lives and safety of our people."
Regarding the late Fire Lieutenant Noh Taeyoung, President Lee expressed, "I am deeply saddened by the loss of a promising young firefighter. We must always remember that his dedication and sense of mission have laid the foundation for a safer Korea today."
He also added, "I sincerely offer my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family who lost their precious son and to all firefighters who lost their colleague."
