With just over two months remaining until the June 3 local elections, the leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea is actively visiting regions across the country, ramping up their campaign efforts.

View original imageOn April 1, Party Leader Jeong Cheongrae and Floor Leader Han Byeongdo are visiting Cheorwon in Gangwon Province and Yeosu in South Jeolla Province, respectively, to listen to public sentiment.
In the morning, Leader Jeong will visit Cheorwon in Gangwon Province to hold an on-site Supreme Council meeting. In the afternoon, he will attend the 'Cheorwon-eup Residents' Harmony Festival' in Cheorwon-eup, Cheorwon-gun, as part of efforts to win over voters.
Woo Sangho, former Senior Secretary for Political Affairs to the President and the sole Democratic Party nominee for governor of Gangwon Province, will accompany the party leadership on this day. It is expected that Leader Jeong will appeal to local residents for their support in the local elections during the visit.
On the same day, Floor Leader Han, together with members of the party’s Special Committee on Economic Response to the Middle East Situation, will visit the Yeosu Industrial Complex, which is facing difficulties due to recent increases in oil prices. After inspecting petrochemical company sites, they will hold a meeting with key companies.

The previous day, Leader Jeong attended a joint meeting of the heads of the Party’s City and Provincial Proportional Representation Candidate Recommendation Committees at the National Assembly, where he said, "An election is not over until it is truly over, and we can only grasp the outcome once the results are revealed. That is why each day is a nerve-wracking process." He added, "I intend to do everything humanly possible," expressing his strong determination to secure victory.
