Mayor Park Seungwon: "We Will Create an Ecosystem Where Young People Can Grow Through Healthy Relationships"
Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Seungwon) is set to become the first in the nation to establish a public "Basic Relationship Network" that supports young people in building connections.

"LIME" is a participatory communication platform where young people can directly plan and operate community-based gatherings. It is designed not just for hobby-based groups, but to enable young people from diverse backgrounds to share concerns and form new relationships.
The city has recently focused on the societal trend where even "making connections" comes at a cost, and where opportunities to meet can differ based on economic circumstances. In response, it has adopted the concept of "basic relationships," viewing the formation of healthy social connections as a fundamental right that determines quality of life, and aims for the public sector to support emotional and social networks.
While basic income and basic services have so far provided material foundations for life, the purpose of "basic relationships" is for the public sector to ensure that anyone can form and maintain social connections unconditionally. Through this, the city aims to close the gap in opportunities for relationship-building.

The focus is on designing group structures and operational methods so that users can connect naturally through the platform and experience a variety of relationship-building opportunities.
In addition, the city will train "community experience designers" to lead these gatherings. Young residents of Gwangmyeong who wish to become community experience designers can apply from April 3 to April 15. Selected participants will undergo a six-week training program and will take on the role of setting group topics and leading activities for youth gatherings.
The Youth Center will provide free activity spaces for established groups and will also offer varying levels of support for activity expenses, such as instructor fees and material costs, depending on the stage of development of each group leader.

We will make sure that LIME becomes a leading national model for supporting relationship-building."
