It now stands as the undisputed hub airport for Northeast Asia.
In quantitative terms, Incheon Airport recorded 74,071,475 international passengers and 2,954,684 tons of international cargo in 2025, making it the world's third-largest airport by Airport Council International (ACI) standards.
The number of transfer passengers reached 8,046,572, establishing Incheon as the leading hub airport in Northeast Asia by absorbing transfer demand from surrounding regions such as Japan. In terms of its air network, 101 airlines now operate flights to 183 cities in 53 countries (both passenger and cargo flights). For Japanese routes, Incheon serves 31 destinations, more than Narita (17) and Kansai (12) airports in Japan. Additionally, leveraging its accumulated expertise in airport construction and operation, Incheon has secured 42 overseas projects in 18 countries worldwide, achieving cumulative contract value of USD 585.58 million, effectively exporting the "K-Airport" model globally. Qualitatively, Incheon Airport became the first in the world to achieve 12 consecutive wins (2005–2016) in the ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards and has received the highest level of ACI Customer Experience Accreditation for four consecutive years (2022–2025), providing world-class airport services.

In particular, with the completion of the fourth phase of construction in November 2024, the airport is now equipped with the world’s third-largest infrastructure, capable of handling 106 million passengers annually. In terms of international passenger capacity, Hong Kong (120 million), Dubai (115 million), and Incheon (106 million) are the top three globally. The total project cost for phases 1–4 of Incheon Airport’s expansion was KRW 18.017 trillion, of which only 18% (KRW 3.2874 trillion) was supported by the national treasury, while the remaining 82% was financed independently through bond issuance and other means. Incheon Airport, which was launched in 1992 with the goal of becoming a "Northeast Asia hub airport," achieved successful construction and opening in just 8 years and 4 months and has since returned the resulting achievements to the nation, serving as a leading example of a successful national project. An Incheon Airport official stated, "The airport’s growth was possible thanks to consistent government policy support and public backing. In turn, the corporation has continued to return its achievements and profits to the nation and local communities."
Economically, Incheon Airport has generated an economic ripple effect of KRW 67 trillion (based on direct effects in 2024), accounting for 2.6% of national GDP. For the Incheon region, the production inducement effect of KRW 48 trillion represents 39% of the region’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP).
In addition, as of 2025, Incheon Airport is projected to contribute approximately KRW 5 trillion annually to national finances, including expected government dividends of KRW 319.4 billion, national taxes of KRW 131.5 billion, and local taxes of KRW 73.8 billion. Last year, the corporation’s revenue was KRW 2.9684 trillion, with a net profit of KRW 694.4 billion. Of this net profit, 54% will be reinvested into facility safety and service improvement, while 46% (KRW 319.4 billion) will be distributed as government dividends. From 2007 to 2024, the cumulative dividends paid total approximately KRW 3.0269 trillion.
Over the past three years, Incheon Airport has also led the way in shared growth with the local community by carrying out regional social contribution projects worth approximately KRW 44.6 billion. Additionally, by paying KRW 56 billion in development profits generated through airport economic zone development projects such as attracting integrated resorts, the airport has established a virtuous cycle in which its growth directly benefits the local community.

Building on these major achievements, the corporation plans to pursue extensive innovation across all aspects of airport operations, thereby enhancing public convenience and contributing further to the development of the national aviation industry.
First, while remaining faithful to its core functions such as operational safety, the airport will prioritize public convenience by driving service innovation across all areas of airport operations and will strengthen its future competitiveness through digital transformation (AX), the establishment of urban air mobility (UAM) infrastructure, and more.
In particular, to actively support the government’s goal of attracting 30 million inbound visitors and to improve travel convenience for passengers residing outside the capital region, the airport will accelerate efforts to strengthen connectivity between Incheon Airport and major regions across the country.
Starting in May, the Incheon–Jeju regular route, which had been suspended since 2016 due to insufficient demand and other airline-side reasons, will resume operations with two flights per week. Currently, there are 42 weekly intercity connecting flights between Incheon Airport and major domestic airports such as Daegu and Gimhae. From April, the number of Incheon–Gimhae intercity flights will be increased from 35 to 39 per week.
The corporation will continue to actively cooperate with the government and related agencies to increase domestic and connecting flights and push forward with the development of new routes. In addition, airport buses connecting Incheon Airport to major cities nationwide currently operate on 123 routes with an average of 2,181 departures per day. The corporation plans to further enhance public access to Incheon Airport by expanding and developing new routes as needed.
Beomho Kim, Acting President and CEO of Incheon International Airport Corporation, stated, "We are deeply grateful for the government’s support, the public’s encouragement, and the hard work of over 94,000 on-site employees, all of which have enabled Incheon Airport’s growth into a world-class airport in just 25 years." He added, "We will continue to serve as the gateway to Korea, improving public convenience, contributing to the advancement of the national aviation industry, and faithfully fulfilling our social responsibilities as a public corporation."
