SAMG Entertainment Launches 'Legacy Edition' for Kidult Market... Expands Reach with Tyranno Thunder
Global IP content company SAMG Entertainment is accelerating its efforts to target the kidult market.
On March 26, SAMG Entertainment announced the launch of its new premium toy lineup, the 'Legacy Edition,' based on its flagship IP 'Mini Force.' The first product in the lineup is the 'Tyranno Thunder Legacy Edition,' a renewed version of the main mecha featured in season 3, 'Super Dino Power.'
This product is modeled after the two-stage mecha 'Tyranno Thunder,' which transforms between a dinosaur-shaped vehicle and a robot. Aiming to be a collectible high-end product that goes beyond conventional toys, it features close-combat weapon 'Thunder Blade' and defensive equipment 'Tyranno Shield,' offering differentiated details and functions from the original. In addition, the range of motion for each joint has been expanded, enabling a variety of dynamic poses such as holding the Thunder Blade with both hands.
Earlier this month, SAMG Entertainment’s Boys' Product Team generated excitement among fans by releasing a development-stage test sample through social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The released sample was praised for its sturdy joint structure and sophisticated details, with reviewers noting that it "meets the demands of adult collectors, not just ordinary toy buyers."
Recently, the toy market has seen the rise of the 'kidult' demographic, who consume products out of nostalgia for childhood characters and robots, as a major source of demand. In particular, parents in their 30s and 40s with significant purchasing power are driving the growth of the robot toy and figurine market as they share hobbies with their children. Among online communities and professional reviewers, the 'Mini Force' season 7 'Ultimate Dino' series is already recognized for its impressive sculpting and quality, having established a solid adult fanbase.
A SAMG Entertainment official stated, "This product is more than just another toy release; it actively incorporates feedback from the kidult fandom centered around YouTube and online communities." The official added, "Going forward, we plan to introduce the main 'Mini Force' mecha as Legacy Editions in sequence, thereby strengthening a high-value-added IP business model that combines content and toys."
