View original imageThe "2026 Big Sale to Revitalize Gyeonggi" is being held from the 20th to the 29th to invigorate the local economy and ease the perceived cost-of-living burden for residents, at a time when consumer sentiment has weakened due to rising oil prices and inflation concerns. Gyeonggi Province has allocated 7 billion won for the first half of the year’s Big Sale, and over 500 commercial districts and more than 80,000 stores—an expanded scale compared to last year—are participating.
In particular, the event is providing active support for increasing sales at traditional markets and among small business owners through several measures: up to 20% cashback per transaction (with a daily limit of 30,000 won and a total event limit of 120,000 won) when paying with Gyeonggi Local Currency, and 5,000 won discount coupons for orders over 20,000 won on three public delivery app platforms—Baedal Teukgeup, Ddaenggyeoyo, and Meokgaebi.
Deputy Governor Daesoon Kim greeted each merchant during his visit and said, "Every resident’s purchase plays a vital role in revitalizing the local economy, so I hope this Big Sale will bring tangible benefits to both merchants and consumers. We will continue to expand practical policies that can breathe new life into traditional markets and neighborhood commercial districts."
