7-Eleven Expands Supply of Sold-Out 'Fresh Choco Pie'...Aiming for 3 Million Annual Sales

Continued Growth in Dessert Sales
Convenience store chain 7-Eleven is expanding the supply of its fresh Choco Pie dessert, which has gained popularity in Japan, and will begin full-scale sales.
In December last year, 7-Eleven introduced the signature dessert 'Fresh Choco Pie' from Japan's Lotte Confectionery to the Korean market for the first time. To gauge market response, about 60,000 units were sold in limited quantities at approximately 600 stores nationwide. The initial stock sold out within two weeks of launch. Reviews and restock requests quickly spread across social networking services (SNS) and online communities, drawing significant attention.
Unlike the existing product, Fresh Choco Pie uses fresh cream instead of marshmallow to create a softer texture. With a higher egg content, the cake sheet is moister, and a thin chocolate coating on the outside delivers both crispness and moistness. This differentiated texture and flavor have received positive reviews online, and the combination of the dessert with milk has become increasingly popular among consumers.
In response to this demand, starting March 19, 7-Eleven will gradually increase supply with the goal of selling approximately 3 million units annually. 7-Eleven explained, "This expansion is the result of a collaboration combining the production technology of Japan's Lotte, the import system of Lotte Wellfood, and the distribution network of Korea Seven."
7-Eleven is strengthening its dessert competitiveness by leveraging its global network to introduce new products. The company has introduced various popular overseas products, including the Japanese dessert Ohayo Jersey Milk Pudding, and is currently operating more than 200 products from five different countries. Cumulative sales have surpassed 10 million units.
