"From Light Bulb Replacement to Boiler Inspection" Cheongdo County's Immediate Civil Complaints Response Team Emerges as a Reliable Problem Solver for Residents
2,158 Complaints Resolved Over Three Years
On-Site, Community-Focused Administration Provides Free Support for Vulnerable Groups
The "Immediate Civil Complaints Response Team," operated by Cheongdo County under the leadership of Mayor Kim Hasu, is quickly resolving daily inconveniences faced by county residents and has established itself as a model case of community-focused administrative service.
Launched in 2023, the "Immediate Civil Complaints Response Team" is a field-based dedicated service designed to enhance the convenience and welfare of county residents.
The team handles various essential requests that are minor but difficult for the elderly or vulnerable groups to resolve on their own, such as replacing lights and outlets, repairing faucets, and inspecting boilers, by visiting the residents in person.

The response team has addressed a total of 2,158 complaints, including 1,145 cases in the Sandong area and 1,013 cases in the Sanseo area, effectively serving as the "MacGyver" of the community.
In particular, the Sandong area, centered around Cheongdo-eup, handled more than 403 cases in 2025 alone, while Hwayang-eup resolved 360 complaints during the same year, receiving enthusiastic responses from residents.
Cheongdo County is prioritizing support for vulnerable groups, including welfare recipients, low-income households, people with disabilities, and seniors living alone aged 70 or older.
For these households, material costs of up to 50,000 won are provided free of charge to alleviate financial burdens.
One resident met on-site expressed gratitude, saying, "With poor eyesight and limited mobility, I couldn't even consider replacing a burnt-out light, but after reporting it, they visited immediately and resolved the issue. It truly feels like my world has become brighter."
Based on the know-how accumulated over the past three years, Cheongdo County plans to further advance its operational system in 2026.
Beyond simply processing received complaints, the county aims to realize "comprehensive community welfare" by proactively identifying and resolving residents' inconveniences through on-site inspections and preemptive checks.
Lee Cheolseung, Mayor of Cheongdo-eup, and Lee Hwa-il, Mayor of Hwayang-eup, stated, "This is the practice of field administration that addresses inconveniences close to residents’ daily lives. We will continue our efforts this year so that more residents can feel the changes, and we will pay even closer attention to supporting seniors and vulnerable households that need real assistance."
