Currently, final construction is underway, and after facility inspections and operational preparations, full-scale operation is expected to begin in mid-April.
The facilities are being built on land near the Seohwa Peace Gymnasium, which was completed in November of last year.
The indoor tennis courts cover a total floor area of 1,950 square meters and feature three hard courts and one artificial turf court, while the indoor futsal court is being constructed at a size of 550 square meters.
As a result, residents will be able to enjoy sports activities at any time, regardless of weather conditions.
Until now, residents in the Seohwa area have consistently voiced concerns about the lack of sports facilities, which made it difficult to participate in various sporting activities.
Reflecting this local demand for recreational sports, Inje County has pushed forward with the construction of the tennis and futsal courts, and expects that this will greatly expand leisure and sports spaces for residents.
In particular, with the new facilities being connected to the recently built Seohwa Peace Gymnasium, they will function as a comprehensive recreational sports complex encompassing both indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
Through this initiative, Inje County anticipates that the Seohwa area will establish itself as a key regional sports hub where various recreational sports activities are possible.
An official from Inje County stated, "With the completion of the Seohwa tennis and futsal courts, residents will have a foundation to enjoy sports in a comfortable environment regardless of season or weather," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to expand recreational sports infrastructure to improve the quality of life and living conditions for residents in the border area."
