Miryang City Draws Up 1.2194 Trillion Won First Supplementary Budget
Focus on Resolving Citizen Inconveniences
and Securing Future Growth Engines
Miryang City in South Gyeongsang Province has submitted its first supplementary budget proposal for 2026 to the city council in order to reflect the voices from the front lines of everyday life and to secure future growth engines for the region.
The proposed supplementary budget amounts to a total of 1.2194 trillion won, an increase of about 60 billion won (5.2%) compared with the original budget. The city swiftly reflected changes in projects subsidized by the national and provincial governments, while focusing on promptly resolving inconveniences raised by citizens during on-site visits.
Looking at the main budget allocations, the city first earmarked funds to strengthen field-oriented administration and safety nets, including 8.5 billion won for projects based on suggestions collected during on-site visits to towns and townships, and 3.4 billion won for restoration of damage from heavy rain and for disaster-prevention maintenance projects. Through these measures, the city plans to eliminate inconveniences in citizens' daily lives and to block various disaster risk factors in advance.
The city also significantly strengthened investment in revitalizing the local economy and in future growth projects. It focused its administrative capacity on establishing a foundation for sustainable growth by allocating 3.1 billion won for support for small business owners and for revitalizing tourism and sports, 20 billion won for compensation related to the creation of the Namgi General Logistics Complex, and 1.4 billion won for expanding public wastewater treatment facilities in the Nano National Industrial Complex.

Mayor Ahn Byung-gu said, "This supplementary budget focuses on projects that are essential to swiftly resolving inconveniences that citizens can feel in their daily lives and to designing Miryang's future," adding, "We will work closely with the city council and push ahead with the projects swiftly as soon as the budget is finalized."
