Bank of Korea Gwangju-Jeonnam Appoints Hwang Gwangmyeong as New Head

View original imageThe Bank of Korea's Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Office announced on the 26th that former head of the Beijing Office, Hwang Gwangmyeong, has taken office as the new head of the regional office.
Head Hwang graduated from Jangheung High School and the Department of Economics at Seoul National University, and joined the Bank of Korea in 1992. Since then, he has served in major departments including the Economic Statistics Department, the Research Department, the Monetary Policy Committee Secretariat, the Economic Research Institute, and the International Department, and has also worked at Gwangju City Hall on secondment. In 2009, he obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University.
The new head Hwang is regarded as not only having extensive experience and excellent job performance capabilities, but also as being highly trusted by staff for his gentle and reasonable character.

The new head Hwang stated, "I will contribute to the development of the regional economy by ensuring smooth financing support for local small and medium-sized enterprises, conducting in-depth research on key regional economic issues, and strengthening cooperation with related institutions."
