No Irregularities Found in On-Site Search
An online threat post claiming that the Kakao headquarters in Jeju would be blown up led police and fire authorities to rush to the scene, but a search confirmed it was a false alarm.
According to the Jeju Fire Department on the 17th, at around 12:57 p.m. the previous day, a police special operations unit and firefighters were dispatched to the Kakao headquarters located in the Jeju Advanced Science and Technology Complex after confirming a bomb threat posted online.
While the on-site search and inspection were underway, two employees inside the building made an emergency evacuation, causing brief commotion.
Police and fire authorities conducted a thorough inspection but found no explosives or any other unusual items.
