Choi Jungyun Says She Wanted To Break Out Of The "Single Mom" Frame...Remarries Man Five Years Younger
"I Have a New Family Now," She Announces on YouTube
Only a Wedding Photoshoot with Her Daughter as a Family of Three
Actress Choi Jungyun (49) has belatedly revealed that she remarried a non-celebrity who is five years younger than her.
On February 12, Choi Jungyun shared a video on her YouTube channel "Choi Jungyun, Working Two Jobs," announcing her remarriage by saying, "I have a new family now."
Choi Jungyun explained that she decided to make her remarriage public because she felt burdened by her "single mom" image. She said that she kept receiving offers to appear on shows built around a single-mom concept and had to turn them down every time, adding, "It made me think that I needed to break out of this frame."
She added, "Because I couldn't say publicly that I was married, I decided to come out about it this time."
She met her husband through golf, and they grew closer as she helped promote his business. The decisive factor in her decision to remarry was her daughter's reaction. Choi Jungyun said that on the third day her daughter met him, the child called them "Mom" and "Dad," and she added, "If my child had said she didn’t like it, remarriage would have been difficult."
They did not hold a separate wedding ceremony, and instead, at her daughter's suggestion, the three of them only did a wedding photoshoot together.
