Jinan-gun Uses Hometown Love Donation Program to Improve Residents' Quality of Life
Jinan-gun announced that it is investing donations raised through the Hometown Love Donation Program into various areas such as childbirth, senior citizens, children, and culture, and is promoting practical, everyday welfare projects that residents can truly feel.
From 2023 to 2025, Jinan-gun raised approximately 1.4 billion won in Hometown Love donations from a total of 8,858 donors, and based on these funds is carrying out four projects aimed at improving residents' quality of life and revitalizing the local community.
First, the county is running the "Childbirth Celebration Package Support Project" to support households with newborns. This project was created to ease the initial childcare burden of families with newborns and to foster a childbirth-friendly environment, and in 2025 it supported a total of 57 households over the year. As the package consists of items that are actually needed for childcare and has received a positive response from beneficiaries, the project is planned to continue this year as well.
The second initiative is the "Community Rest Area Safety Handle Installation Support Project" to create a safer living environment for senior citizens. This project is being implemented by installing safety handles and ramps at 161 community rest areas in the county, including senior centers and village halls. In 2025, it was carried out at 53 locations across 20 districts, and Jinan-gun plans to continue the project with the goal of installing them at all community rest areas in the county by 2027.
In addition, as a new project in 2026, Jinan-gun will promote the "Jinan Child Growth Album Support Project." Targeting 100 households in the county, this project supports families in documenting their children's growth through photographs. It is expected to help create a family-friendly atmosphere, revitalize local photo studios, and contribute to overcoming the low birth rate.
Along with this, Jinan-gun is also promoting the "Hakcheon District Complex Cultural Plaza Construction Project" through designated donations. Through this project, the county plans to create a 5,140-square-meter plaza and a 180-space parking lot beneath the district, providing an open cultural space that can be used by both residents and tourists, and contributing to the expansion of the local cultural infrastructure and the revitalization of the region.
