The program is designed to help participants take root in the community with stability. Notably, in order to attract urban residents and revitalize the region, the city has expanded the number of households eligible for support this year from 28 to 35.
Eligible applicants are those who have lived outside Jeongeup City for at least one year and have moved to a rural area within the city within the past five years. In addition, applicants must have completed at least 40 hours of education related to returning to farming or rural life.
The main support details are as follows: For rural housing support, up to 8 million won per household is provided for the construction of new rural homes (including design), repairs to old farmhouses (such as replacing windows and boilers, wallpapering, flooring, and roof repairs), and overall improvement of living conditions.
Farming settlement support is differentiated according to household characteristics to enhance effectiveness. Returnees aged 65 or younger are eligible for up to 10 million won per household. For the 2030 youth generation, support is available up to 15 million won, and for 2030 married households, up to 20 million won. The support funds can be used for purchasing agricultural machinery, installing cold storage facilities, constructing greenhouses, and other activities to establish a farming foundation.
Those wishing to participate in the project must visit their local Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Center in person to apply by the 20th of this month. For more details, applicants can check with the Jeongeup City office on the 'Greendaero' integrated platform for returnees or at their local Administrative Welfare Center.
