Yangju City to Launch '2026 Electric Vehicle Supply Project'... Support for a Total of 1,274 Vehicles
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province is launching the '2026 Electric Vehicle (Passenger and Cargo) Supply Project' to expand the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve air quality.
Through this project, the city plans to allocate a total budget of 7,102,860,000 KRW to supply 1,274 electric vehicles. Specifically, support will be provided for 1,118 electric passenger cars (55 with priority, 1,052 general, and 11 taxis) and 156 electric cargo vehicles (8 with priority, 141 general, and 7 for delivery services). Applications for the project will be accepted from February 2, 2026, to December 11, 2026, and may close early if the budget is exhausted.
The average subsidy per electric vehicle is 4.25 million KRW, with the amount varying depending on the vehicle model.
An additional conversion subsidy is available for individuals who have owned an internal combustion engine vehicle for at least three years after its release and sell or scrap it before purchasing an electric vehicle.
Applicants wishing to purchase an electric vehicle must sign a purchase contract and then submit an application for purchase support. After confirming eligibility and completing the selection process, the subsidy will be provided following vehicle delivery and registration.
Yangju City has steadily promoted the adoption of electric vehicles, supplying a total of 3,663 units from 2017 to 2025.
