Seongnam City Completes Official Designation of Yangji Village in Bundang Leading District as "Special Maintenance Zone"
Designation of All Seven Zones in Four Leading Districts Completed
Bundang Reconstruction Projects Enter Full-Scale Phase
Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin), announced on January 27 that it has completed the official designation and public notice of Yangji Village in District 32, the leading zone of the aging planned city of Bundang, as a "Special Maintenance Zone."
After receiving the proposal for the designation of the Special Maintenance Zone on November 17, 2025, the city promptly conducted consultations and reviews with relevant agencies. Following the deliberation by the Urban Planning Committee on December 15, 2025, the final designation and public notice were completed on this day.
The Yangji Village reconstruction project is a large-scale redevelopment plan to create a residential complex with up to 37 floors and 6,839 units in the area of 24 Sunae-dong, Bundang-gu. Through this project, an additional 2,447 units will be supplied compared to the existing number, and overall residential conditions are expected to improve through the maintenance of infrastructure such as parks, public facilities, and pedestrian roads.
With the official designation of Yangji Village, the designation of all seven zones in the four leading districts of Bundang has been completed, marking the full-scale launch of the reconstruction projects. Previously, on January 19, the designation of the following zones was completed: △Siheom Complex (District 23-S6) △Saetbyeol Village (District 31-S4) △Mokryeon Village (District 6-S3).

Shin Sangjin, Mayor of Seongnam, stated, "The leading districts will serve as the starting point for the redevelopment of Bundang's aging planned city and will be an important benchmark for its future success or failure.
