Seongnam City to Host Event on December 12
Open to Experts and Citizens Alike
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Shin Sang-jin) will host the '2025 Healthy City Symposium' at 3:00 p.m. on December 12 in the Hannuri Room at City Hall. This year’s symposium, held under the theme of “Urban Space and Health,” aims to examine the impact of the urban environment on citizens’ health and to discuss policy directions for building a sustainable healthy city with experts in urban planning, public health, and transportation.
The event will feature keynote presentations by Hyun-Gon Sung, Professor of Urban and Regional Development Management at Hanyang University (“Urban Health through the Integration of Land Use and Transportation”); Seung-Ji Lee, Professor of Convergence Design at Incheon Catholic University (“Changing Paradigms in Healthcare and Spatial Responses”); and Jung-Woo Lee, Professor of Civil and Environmental Systems Engineering at Chung-Ang University (“Parks on Roads, Walkable Cities: Changes Before and After the Construction of the Bundang-Suseo Expressway Deck Park”).
This will be followed by a designated panel discussion featuring Chang-Woo Son, Professor of Health Administration at Yonsei University; Dong-A Choi, Professor of Urban and Regional Development Management at Hanyang University; and Chae-Young Bae, Research Fellow at the Urban Environment Research Office of the Seongnam Institute. Eun-Jung Kim, Professor of Urban Planning at Keimyung University, will serve as the moderator for the comprehensive discussion.
The symposium is open to anyone interested, including professionals in urban, environmental, and health sectors, as well as citizens and public officials.
