Gyeonggi Budget Bill Disruption Enters New Phase... Kim Dongyeon Meets with Provincial Council Executive on the 5th
The disruption in the handling of next year's budget bill, triggered by the absence of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government's executive branch from the Gyeonggi Provincial Council's administrative audit, has entered a new phase.
Following the resignation of Jo Hyejin, Chief Secretary to Governor Kim Dongyeon, who was at the center of the disruption, Governor Kim Dongyeon visited the provincial council to express his regret.
At a meeting held at 11 a.m. on December 5 with Provincial Council Chair Kim Jinkyung, Democratic Party Floor Leader Choi Jonghyun, Democratic Party Chief Deputy Floor Leader Jang Hanbyeol, and People Power Party Deputy Floor Leader Lee Yongho, Governor Kim stated, "I understand the concerns raised by the governor's aides regarding the council's steering committee administrative audit, as they are related to all public officials in Gyeonggi Province. However, as the governor responsible for provincial administration, I deeply regret the recent situation that was ultimately triggered by the absence from the steering committee."
He continued, "I hope that today marks a turning point for the normalization of relations between the council and the provincial executive branch through joint efforts," and urged, "I ask the provincial council to actively cooperate in the review and processing of the budget for the livelihood of the residents."
